These silica casting crucibles can be used for gold, silver, or brass alloys. There are three melting options with this style of crucible. Metal can be melted in this crucible with a torch; you can melt metal directly in this crucible in a furnace and then transfer the crucible to the casting machine; or you can melt your metal in a pouring crucible and it would then be poured into this crucible after it is preheated.

Metal can be melted in this crucible with a torch up to 2500°F (1371°C).
